Fish guttingThe group members have continued their work after their participation in the pilot phase and have gradually become more or less independent practitioners. They have contributed a wealth of interesting and valuable recordings, including songs and poetry from the Northeast. Some of the material may be used on a local community web page, and Salt of the Earth hopes to use other media as well to display their impressive accomplishments.

The twin themes of the land and the sea have come across strongly in the recordings of the inhabitants of northeast Scotland. The participants are currently working to illustrate the contrasts in the lives of these local people.
