Methil Power Station

During late 1998 and early 1999, Methil group members compiled a body of recordings, some from within the group, some from local people invited along to the class, and some by interviews in the town.
They have learned to use the equipment competently and have become interested in and involved with the digital recording and transfer process. They categorised and sorted the recorded material and made a master mini disc which was then passed to a recording studio to enhance and write a CD. This, together with photographs and written material, formed the basis of an exhibition (pictured right), where the recordings can be heard through headphones from a remote player. This exhibition is currently on display at Methil Heritage Centre and will be moving around Fife.
The participants are rightly proud of the advances they have made both personally, in skills enhancement and community awareness, and in representing the Methil area. They are keen to work further together and will be building their own website to display the material collected during their SOTE involvement.
