Scotland is an ideal destination for a short break of any length, somewhere you can unwind and relax, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. At any of our carefully selected destinations you can enjoy breathtaking scenery together with a host of interesting things to do and places to visit. Whether it is a challenging trip through forests or hills or a leisurely ride by lochs or seashore you will return refreshed by the clear fresh air and the invigorating exercise. Why not use a short break to treat yourself to an extra holiday outwith the main busy months of July and August or include a short cycling break in your main Scottish holiday. Our short breaks include bed and breakfast in private houses and guest houses, cycle hire and maps and routes. If you feel like treating yourself to a little luxury we will be pleased to upgrade your accommodation to a four star guest house or hotel and also include evening dinner. Cawdor CastleINVERNESS
The bustling riverside burgh of Inverness, often called the “Capital of the Highlands”, sits on the shore of the Moray Firth. It has a wide variety of accommodation, restaurants to suit every taste and excellent shopping facilities. Your cycling trips can take you to the historic battlefield of Culloden, Cawdor Castle with its beautiful gardens and Fort George, the massive barracks built after the Battle of Culloden in 1746. Travelling southwards on quiet minor roads there are spectacular views over Loch Ness, whilst a boat trip from Inverness Harbour provides an opportunity to see the famed school of  bottlenose dolphins which roll and leap in the Moray Firth.

 

PITLOCHRYBlair Castle
This bustling Victorian resort town is centrally placed for exploring the scenic beauty of the Perthshire Highlands. Loch Tummel, Rannoch, Blair Castle, Killiekrankie are just some of the beautiful places within easy reach. Around the town  there are two distilleries, the Dam and Fish Ladder, the Festival Theatre and numerous shops to visit. There is a wide choice of short or long circular cycle routes to satisfy all grades of ability.

 

ST ANDREWSThe Castle,St Andrews
Well known as the “Home of Golf”, St Andrews also offers the visitor a host of other interesting things to see and do. The town itself enjoys a wonderful seaside setting in St Andrews Bay, with two excellent beaches and a small harbour. The sense of history is all around and is illustrated by the fine buildings of the ancient university and the ruins of the Castle and massive Cathedral built in the 13th century. For cyclists there are signposted routes exploring the coastal scenery and pretty harbours of the “East Neuk” or travelling inland there are the Fife Folk Museum at Ceres and the Royal Palace of Falkland. At nearby Tentsmuir Forest with its picnic area and wide sandy beach, there are quiet, level forest tracks, ideally suited to family cycling.
