Day 1. Arrive at SANTILLANA DEL MAR
Explore this picturesque medieval village with its cobbled streets and excellent restaurants. Collect cycles and route briefing. Click to enlarge>>>>

Day 2. SANTILLANA - SAN VICENTE 21ml(34 km)
The first day's ride travels through pleasant green countryside, past the lemon groves of Novales to Comillas. Explore this bustling little village with its architectural curiosities and then continue alongside beautiful Atlantic beaches to the fishing village of San Vicente de la Barquera.

Day 3. Circular tour from SAN VICENTE
Enjoy a walk around the old quarter and the fishing harbour with its many renowned seafood restaurants or cycle along unspoilt coastline to the charming cove of Berellín or the wonderful open beach of Merón.

Day 4. SAN VICENTE - POTES 30ml(48km)
Cycle inland from San Vicente towards the majestic "Picos de Europa" mountains. Follow the River Deva through beautiful countryside and continue as the road enters the winding and spectacular gorge of La Hermida, surrounded by towering mountains. You emerge into the fertile valley of Liébana and overnight in its charming capital Potes. Click to enlarge>>>>

Day 5. Rest day POTES
From your base in Turieno near Potes explore the beautiful and unspoilt valleys where wild bear and wolves still roam. Visit architectural gems such as the Church of Santa María de Lebeña or the Monastery of Santo Toribio together with the numerous unspoilt mountain villages. Take the cable car up from Fuente Dé to really appreciate the high peaks and the breathtaking scenery.

Day 6. PORRÚA - SAN ROQUE DE RIOMIERA - SOMO 27ml(44km)
A transfer to the hills above San Roque de Riomiera before beginning the 2700 feet downhill descent through the most spectacular limestone valley to the pleasant seaside resort of Somo. Click to enlarge>>>>

Day 7. Circular tour from SOMO
Explore the green countryside and fine beaches or take a boat trip across the Bay to the city of Santander. An opportunity for some shopping or just stroll around this fine city with its scenic promenade.
