A Greenway is a lane on a main road painted green. Only buses, taxis, emergency vehicles and bikes are allowed to use it.Cars are not allowed to use greenways at rush hours so that the buses don't get held back.
A zebra crossings is black and white stripes that help you cross the road.When people cross the road on a zebra crossing cars are meant to stop.A zebra crossing has two poles with orange flashing lights on top.They are called Belisha Beacon.
A chicane is a wider part of the pavement.It sticks out and makes the road narrower. It is designed to make the cars go slower.
A Pelican Crossing is a pedestrian crossing with traffic lights that are controlled by pedestrians who press the button.There is a red light, a green light and an amber light.The red means stop, the green means go and the amber means get ready. There is a green man and a red man.The green man means that it is safe for pedestrians to cross. The red man means that it is not safe to walk because the cars are still driving.
