Cross-correlation is a statistical technique which is sometimes useful in detecting dynamic relationships between variables. It works by calculating the correlation coefficient between two variables at a range of different time delays. The screenshot above shows a cross-correlation plot generated by CybMod. Using this plot the user can decide if there is a strong causal relationship between different variables and thus select appropriate inputs for the fuzzy model.
