The 3 rackets
above are in good condition and date back to the 1900s.
Picture in the
centre shows all 3 rackets whilst the picture on the left shows a close-up
of the neck area and the picture on the right shows the reverse
side.

"Max Woosman" No.90 by H.J.Gray & Sons Ltd. 131/2 oz. Strings are all intact.
"The Blue Riband" by William Reid, Glasgow. 121/2 oz with a leather butt cap with the lettering `When not in use please keep in a press`. One centre string broken.
"Avenue" by Hazells Ltd., London attributed to R.Norrie, Kirkcaldy. Leather butt cap with the lettering `When not in use please keep in a press.` This racket has a double lead string pattern. Strings all intact.
JEFFERIES & Co. RACKETS

The 2 rackets
above are in reasonable condition and date back to the mid 1800s. They are made
by Jefferies & Co who were one of the very first companies to make this
type of racket. These are extremely rare and are a pair. Original owner has at
one time painted their initials on the necks. One racket handle has a length of
wood missing on one side. Strings are original but are broken as can be
seen.
Pictures on the left show close-ups of the neck areas on both sides,
whilst those on the right show the full length of both
sides.
RACKETS by Lumleys Ltd. and Wimbledon
These 2 rackets are in good
condition and date back to around 1900.
One on the left is made/supplied by
Lumleys Ltd. of Glasgow and Edinburgh and is 121/2 oz
with a leather butt cap with the lettering `When not in use please keep in a
press`. The racket in the photograph on the right is a "Wimbledon" model. No
makers name appears on this particular racket, however its convex wedge
indicates a pre-mid 1920s racket. These rackets are in great condition with all
strings intact and also feature the double lead string pattern.

NET CENTRE BAND & ANCHOR
Unused and in its original box this tape and anchor was designed for grass courts and are now quite difficult to obtain.
BRASS COURT MEASURING TAPE

Leather topped brass measuring tape which has the tennis court with dimensions marked out on the leather top. End of tape clamp missing, otherwise complete and working. Not many around in this good a condition.
BOOK ~ "Lacoste on Tennis"

Written by Rene Lacoste and published for Dunlop Sports Co. Ltd in 1928, this edition has some classic photographs and tips. A must for any bookshelf.
BOOK ~ "Lawn Tennis - The Game of Nations"

Published around 1925 this book is by the Wimbledon Championship winner Suzanne Lenglen, and features some wonderful black and white photographs.
BOOK ~ "How to Learn Lawn Tennis"

Published by Ward Lock & Co. in the early 1920`s this manual was written by the then tennis coach of the All England Club, Charles Hierons. It has lovely coaching examples, court layouts and has some great period advertisements inside its front and back covers.
PHONECARDS

Unused British Telecom 20 unit Wimbledon Phonecards. Lower one is dated 1993.
1998 WIMBLEDON TICKET

This is an unused Wimbledon Ticket in its folder. Ticket was for Centre Court Covered Stand on Monday 22nd June 1998. Very rare item.
OLD TENNIS POSTCARDS

Postcard on the left is of The Old House Infirmary and Old Chapel, Downside School and is unused. The one on the right is of Ex-serviceman`s Tennis Club in Prestwick and is dated 14 September 1942 with the address and message on the reverse side.
RULES BOOKLET

Small booklet published by the Perthshire Rubber Co., Perth as part of the `Sports Trader` Series. The Perthshire Rubber Co. was involved in the manufacture of tennis balls.
