I972 - I998

Some poems are TRUE from start to end,
And this is one which I'll DEFEND,
Against all writers known to bend,
The truth at every passing trend.
The Christian year of I972,
Saw the Euro people in a stew,
On whether to pass or to eschew,
Adopting a new patriotic view.
Like thousands more I voted YES!
And I am still proud that was my 'guess'.
The time had come, I understood,
To end world wars which are no good,
And by the 'cross' that I supplied,
I'm determined not to be denied,
The higher loyalty I had chosen.
While 'Britons' all with minds still frozen
In `British' mode like William Hague,
Tried an 'EU nation' to renegue.
This is disloyalty of deepest dye.
Yet many fools appear to try,
The bright new (EURO) nation to deny
And steep themselves in infamy.
Deserting the vital INTEGRATION PLAY.
I was GLAD to see M. Thatcher sacked,
When, after wars that she had backed,
She was kicked upstairs as is the way,
Of foolish RULE BRITANNIA people.
The lady, made a Baroness,
But caught out in 'unrighteousness',
Bemoaned her fate far more than Heath,
Who grudgingly served beneath,
A shower of obloquy and scorn,
Which often made him look forlorn.
But see him now, a brighter chappie
When hopes of world peace make him happy.
Apart of course from cheats like Cook
A stupid multi-nations crook,
Who backs the "GOD, ROYALS and FLAGS" agenda,
Instead of a new common gender,
In which men and women, lesbians and gays,
Can save the world for peaceful (legal) ways.
Instead of DUNDEE DANDY comic antics
And MEANINGLESS Spike Milligan `pomes.
And dullard London Dockland Domes.
With Ning and Nang and Nong the highest.
Make a philosophic 'GLOBAL POET LAUREATE' wisest.
