Which MUG?

To the Editor, Letters, The Dundee Courier

Sir,
“How about starting a Mugs of Europe party ?” is the (tongue in cheek ?) proposal put forward by James Russell Smith of Kirriemuir, 05-11-99.

In my view of the universe we are all obliged to be “mugs” of one political aim or another-- “Mugs of Scotland”,
“Mugs of the USA’, “Mugs of Anglicanism”, “Mugs of Islam”, “Mugs of the Vatican”, “Mugs of Marxism”, “Mugs of Chechnya” , Mugs of Globalism, Mugs of Aristocracy, Mugs of Democracy, and many other adopted faiths.

The faith I have adopted is “World Parliament” because I think that is perhaps the broadest kind of outlook we can have and therefore the faith most likely to result in a united human society in the world.

But Mr James Russell Smith does not say which  “Mug”  he prefers.
Perhaps he should tell us!

Yours truly,
