The Future of Democracy
 
 When you are getting nearly NINETY you can’t be very sure,
If you will see next century or how long you will endure,
Or if your Rockwell RHYMING is better than your prose,
And the POLITICS you offer is BETTER than that of those,
Candidates in Dundee or SMPs or UK or in the EU PARLIAMENT
Which you voted for one day with hope WP would come one day
For I’ve been living HOPEFULLY for 88 years now,,
Content to think WORLD PARLIAMENT is the most clever vow.
With DEMOCRACY IN Dundee, MSPs and UK too
It makes sense to be IN EU and the WORLD PARLIAMENT VIEW.
But imagine my LIVIDITY when I read here today,
The EPITOME of HERESY to my intelligent way.
A HEADLINE in the Dundee COURIER-- no surprise to me,
“Euro elections are a travesty of democracy”
You may have seen this letter in a ‘local’ nearer you,
But, if not, just let me tell you what to do.
Just buy a DUNDEE COURIER for 24-5-99,
Then sue the EDITOR for a £1Bn for this hideous line.
Screwy STODDART OF SWINDON is in the HOUSE OF LORDS
From whence he sent this letter -- anti-democratic words!
He deserves to lose his Lordship and here’s the reason why,
Stoddart is a PROVEN ENEMY of a democratic rule,
An EU-UK REFERENDUM which came to my GLASNOST SCHOOL.
The “YESES” won the argument for EU YES OR NO
So THE LAW SAYS Doddery STODDART knows where to go.
He is WRONG to back old UK money -- the POUND to you.
And he is WRONG to trash the EURO -- GOOD NEW CASH for YOU.
FURTHERMORE AS A GLOBAL DEMOCRAT I REALLY DO DEPLORE.
ARISTOCRATS LIKE STODDART OF SWINDON:(AN OBVIOUS UK BORE)
If he was a loyal democrat he would agree with me,
That a CLASSLESS CONSTITUTION should replace the one we see.
NEW LABOUR is A TRAVESTY of REFORMS we need
A NEW WORKING CLASS under TONY BLAIR with his fat cat wife.
Are realities which should sour HIS LORDSHIP all his life!
We should have A WORLD REPUBLIC to justify a claim,
A WORKING CLASS OBJECTIVE is OBVIOUSLY WRONG,
When an ENTIRE HUMAN SOCIETY we should be working on!
So warn Blair and Clinton, their misbegotten PLANS
To IGNORE a world of LAWLESS NATIONS show they are dizzy DANS.
This may be a local joke for journalists of Dandy fame
But we can’t erase the famousness of the egm-print fame
For he was first and foremost WORLD PARLIAMENT to bless,
As the FOCUS of democracy of the entire race for real peacefulness.
Ignore the kind of genitals, the male or female kind
EGALITY FOR EVERYONE born into humankind.
Let us ditch all KINGS and others -- NO MONARCHY for me.
All ARISTOCRATS abolished. No HOUSE OF LORDS I see.
In a HUMAN WORLD REPUBLIC OF ALL HUMANITY.
