FAREWELL TO GEO

There can only be one topic in my thinking here today,
My dearest friend and fellow human has now passed away.
We lived our lives together for SIXTY-SEVEN years,
Which must surely be a record before the floods of tears.
For Geo did not have a pleasant end.
She was choked to death I'd say.
Slowly growing ever weaker day after cruel day.
She actually warned us that she thought her end was near.
Accompanied by a message that death is not a thing to fear.
Geo was fifteen when we first met in a rural jamboree.
I thought she was a BEAUTY who could live along with me.
We joked about farm animals -- "You are the Best Cow I can see."
But the reality was quite different "You are THE GIRL FOR ME"
We sorted out our personal moralities and found agreement there,
For we were both deeply sceptical of all of the holy books.
The only positives we found were fixed on Huxley's agnostic hooks.
"EVERYBODY SHOULD BELIEVE THIS !" is what we agreed.
Which left us both confused about a basic truth to be believed.
We deserted a world of nations with their diplomatic rites.
And found us clinging to to a world parliament for setting political rights
HUMANITY must be one nation was the best thought we found.
No more sovereignty of nations should mar this basic union to be sound.
ONE COSMOS is reality and every child will be taught to be.
A common product of one "big bang" scientific political ideology.
So we decided to be married and to have a family of four,
None of whom would be baptised in accord with Heaven and Hellish lore.
The man-made God [the Dad of Jesus] would be discarded instantly.
No source of man-made fairy tales would end the suicides we see.
Humans would be one company to redesign our human home.
So that peace on Earth would be a fact and make the universe a human home.
We have tried to spread this gospel and believe that if people try.
We can make the world the world a safer place for all the folk like Geo and I.
