One Life with One Wife

I was taught to be agnostic by my family and friends.
And I have found that speculation works in choosing living ends.
I am not a Scottish Nationalist nor a British Nat either.
I am not just a European man nor any sort of fascist striver,
I am a human being with a human woman for a wife.
And I have tried to make the best of this without a whip or knife.
Geo and I have lived together in a lot of different homes.
Some of them rather splendid but still just family domes.
We promised to stick together whatever luck we had.
And so far this has served us well whether luck was good or bad.
This started out in '1937 and here we are today.
A husband with an ailing wife and a 4 - stages family.
So far we have not found the cause of ill-health attacking Geo.
But we are facing it together on our "common way" to go.
Our house becomes an hospital, her bedroom becomes a ward.
The carers multiply and nurses too with an NHS award,
What will happen in the future is anybody's guess
Faeces bags and urine bags are on the list I see.
So perhaps we are making new NHS HISTORY over Geo and me,
I only asked for Geo's treatment to be kept near me.
And GLORY HALLELUJAH that is coming now to Geo apparently!
All people that on Earth do dwell,
Look here to Arbroath upon my wife and me,
Marvel at the policy the NHS can use,
To make Geo Macfarlane well for our global company.
