Carla's first day out was on 26 May when some of P5 took her to visit Bridgend, which is part of Perth, quite near our school. After they had visited some of the shops they went to enjoy the park which is just across the road from the school.

"About five minutes, " said the girls.

Carla visited the Post Office.

"This is where Angus McTangus left from to visit Ross Park," said Elizabeth.

" When it's time to go home you'll leave from here too."

"What's this talk about going home? I've only just arrived," said Carla.

Carla visited the little art gallery.

"I'm pretty good at painting," said Carla.

"So are we, but we haven't sold any yet," said the girls.

"If you don't stop jumping up and down like that,  I'll fall off your back," said Rex.

"I'll have a sticky pink one," said Carla.

xing.jpg (15382 bytes) "This is a dangerous road," said the boys.

"You can't just hop across anywhere. There's a safe crossing just down the street. We'll cross there and go to the park near the school. It's nice and quiet and safe there."

"Watch your back!"  Carla shouted to Jamie. "Those ducks look vicious.I thought you said it was safe here."

"No, they're very tame and sometimes come into the school playground," Jamie replied.

"They must be quackers or deaf  to come into the playground with all the noise you children make ,"  said Carla.

"Don't be cheeky," said Jamie.

stepping.jpg (18652 bytes) "I bet I can hop these stepping stones faster than you," said Carla.

"You probably could, but it's time to go back to school," said the girls.

When's my next trip and where will we go?" asked Carla.

"You'll have to just wait and see!" said the girls.

Carla's next adventure took place in the Rodney Riverside Gardens nearby the school.

"What's this ?" asked Carla.

"It's a maze," replied Faye.

"That make two of us," said Faye.

"Amazing !" Carla sighed.

"Hi - Yo, Dingo !" Carla yelled, before someone explained it was a fox.

"What's the sudden rush for ?" asked Rex.

"We'll hide in that flower bed," said Carla.

"Slow down, I'm slipping," panted Rex.

"Come on Carla, it's time to go." said Kayleigh and Aqsa.

"Any gum trees in here ?" whispered Rex.

"Hush," said Carla. "They'll find us."

They crossed the busy road at  the old school and went back to the classroom just in time for the end of school bell.
