An additional Intercooler Charge Cooler system similar to the Group A Rally system is fitted. A Totton electric water pump is used to circulate cooling fluid through a full size radiator positioned in front of the engine radiator and through the Escort Cosworth intercooler charge cooler. A boost pressure sensor increases the flow of coolant through the system when on boost to provide the maximum cooling effect to the inlet air on high boost.
The engine was purchased from McRae Motorsport. It was built by Dave Hill of I.E.S. for John Baird's Scottish Rally championship campaign. The engine became available due to the loss of John's main sponsor.
The engine is fitted with a lightweight flywheel and a Group A lightweight alloy CP 2861 racing clutch.
The clutch was modified by AP racing to provide light pedal pressure and makes the car a pleasure to use in town as well as on the on the open road.

A Water injection system is fitted to the vehicle.
The water injection bag can just be seen in the adjacent photo. It is fitted behind the passenger side rear seat.
The Gearbox is a Group N item and is fitted with a Quaiffe big tooth gear kit and has an uprated viscous coupling to reliably cope with the extra power.
The Front differential is 6". The Rear differential is a 71/2" limited slip item.
There
is an adjustable bias unit to proportion the braking effort to the standard
rear brakes.
The wheels are 8" x 17" Compomotive MO with Group A inserts.
The tyres are 245 x 40 x 17 Yokohama A510.
A quality Group A polyurethane front spoiler is fitted.
The front springs are 25% uprated and 25mm lowered.
At the rear, 12 position Leda coil over shock absorbers with 21/4" I.D rear springs on adjustable height platform are fitted and can just be seen in the opposite photograph.The front anti - roll bar and TCA bushes are uprated.

A Collins beam bush kit is fitted and can also be seen in the photograph above.
