OPENING CEREMONY

I sneaked off to the video conferencing suite at work on the day the games started. I unplugged the monitor and tuned it in to the opening ceremony. Then I spent the next hour or so with my eyes full of tears as I felt homesick and then proud of what a good job we were doing.

A lot of people sent me this one. I suppose we really shouldn't be too surprised. Australians never treat anything too reverentially

This one is similarily impolite. I can't help thinking that this guy watched the flame being lit on the first day and thought, 'I've got an idea for a great photo.'
I thought I'd finish off with one more from the Opening Ceremony.

(As good as the Opening was I have to admit that the Closing Ceremony was a little 'naff'. Paul Hogan??? Give me a break. How out of date is that?)

An American living in Australia prepared these statistics. They make interesting reading.
