PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION
|
The PTA's chief role is to foster co-operation between parents and teachers, and to promote the well being of the school. In practice this means organising social events and fundraising. All profits made from PTA events are ultimately passed on to the school. Usually this is for a major purchase or to support a project that the school could not fund alone. Membership of the PTA is open to serving members of the teaching staff and parents/carers (parents) of pupils at Graeme High School. The PTA Committee is elected annually at the AGM and comprises 10 elected parents, elected by parents, and 5 teaching staff, elected by the staff. The PTA Committee. Typical events that the PTA organises include:
In addition to these PTA specific events, we also team up with the School's fund-raisers to make the Christmas Fayre a joint effort, and we support events such as Musical Evenings and Carol Concerts by organising the refreshments. The PTA's Constitution can be found here. |
