Example of Ergonomics in Design Today the design of equipment and production systems is a key factor in efficient and safe working. Users expect their equipment and workplace to be designed for safe and comfortable use. Companies expect their production systems to be operated and maintained in a cost effective way.
	Regulatory authorities are actively encouraging safe and healthy workplaces and companies can be legally called to account if people are injured or develop occupational diseases. Clients becoming more aware that unsafe and inefficient user - system interfaces originates from the design. As a result user requirements are now considered of equal importance as technical specifications throughout the design process.
