| Rising Tide is a campaign aimed at preventing the global environmental and social disasters that would be associated with a change in the global climate. We are a radical voice trying to wake up those involved in the climate negotiations to the simple fact that preventing climate change and encouraging free trade are incompatible aims. And when it comes to a choice, the future of the planet and its peoples is far more important than corporate profits. |
| The site is particularly focussed on the international climate negotiations which take place in the UN. We want to provide all the information environmentalists will need to get involved in the climate negotiations, or criticise them with the disdain they deserve! We would urge the more radical sections of the green movement to pay some attention to global negotiations, because, whilst there is no substitute for local action, neither is it right to leave moderate groups to present a watered down green agenda in international affairs. |
