From Oban to Troon
This is a super event! What you do is run round Oban, clamber on to a boat, sail to Mull (While throwing up in my case), then clamber off the boat, then run 21 miles on road and hill, then clamber on the boat, then sail to Jura, then clamber off the boat, then run 15 mile on the hills, then clamber back on the boat, then sail round the Mull of Kintyre (nothing to do with the Mull you were on yesterday), then clamber off the boat on Arran, then run up Goat Fell, then clamber back on the boat, then sail to Troon, then clamber off the boat, then finish. The deal is as follows-: First find a boat. If you phone Curly he will know who is running the "Dating agency". Next find a partner (I went through 6 before I started). Now the next thing is get very fit. The whole thing is full of incidents and events that will brighten up vacant or pensive moods for years to come. I remember going to sleep with the small waves chattering just inches from my head and then getting up in the night and seeing the moon rising over the coast and making the big ballon shaped sail glow in its cool light. Do not doubt the challenge that this is! It’s a big, big event for the runners but is probably worse for the sailors. Do it before you die!!!
