This might be the proof we need that Westies still retain a mischievous sense of fun as opposed to making the races run on time!

Long, hard, 2-day race with an overnight camp in Fintry. All overnight
kit is transported to camp so competitors can run free of packs.
Some extra hill kit is required because of the length of the race.

 Men's Record is 8:18:25 set by A Keith of HBT in 1997.

 Women's Record is 13:32:52 set by E Scott in 1996

  The Organisers says - : Minimum age is 18 years old, Entry is £7.50 if entered before end of May. Full body cover AND full waterproof cover required. OS maps 64 and 57 required or a one-piece laminated map is available for stlg4.00. Halfway time limits each day. Please phone if thinking of coming along.,

Safety Requirements include

• You must understand the FRA and / or SAF Safety Rules
• Full body cover must be worn or carried. (This may not be required on the day if it is hot and dry)
• You need to have done other long hill races. Talk to the organiser! They just dont want toddlers turning up
• Please bring a sensible map. Generally a 1:50000 OS is ideal. There is no stipulation that you can use it
• Bring a half decent compass
• Bring a Whistle. Repeated blasts on a whistle is the signal that you need help. They only weigh an ounce or two
• Emergency Food to be carried. I think that the rule is a two ounce bar of choclate or equivalent
• All sorts of other stuff like kitchen sinks, passport, yellow fever jabs. Soap optional.
