This is a wee topper of a road race although I am partisan since I laid out the course to make it a hill runners road race. There is pretty close to an accurate 10k but with a long slow climb in it to sort the wimps from the hill runners. The climb is also memorable because you hurl up a mile and a half long avenue of mature, green, (usually) sunlit beech trees. As a way to spend a Thursday evening it is absolutely great. I would recommend it to anyone who fancies a wee change for a mid week training run.
You will probably enjoy it even more if you get someone else to drive since the prize giving is usually held in a pub.
