Cort-ma Law Hill Race
Wednesday, Jun 28 2000
6 Miles 1500ft Category AM
Starts at 19:30:00
From Clachan of Campsie, Nr Glasgow
This is a great way to spend a Wednesday evening. The hills are steep at first then there is a few miles of trackless bog trotting. The organiser gets seriously humpty if you look like you will foul up his evening by getting lost and keeping him from contentment and the pub so do take a compass,Map and whistle as well as full body cover.
The views from the car park that is now the start are as stunning as any view of the occidental Soap Dodger Central could be.
Westerlands increasing ratio of organisation to fun means that there are apparently no planned rehydration visits post race. Is it possible that the new millenium will see the move of Westerlands from a club with altitude to a full blown Carnethy style "University at Play"?
The real indicator will be if the races go as smoothly as peristalsis with as interesting a result.
Men's Record is 0:44:32 set by Murphy/Rigby in 1996.
Women's Record is 00:52:13 set by H. Diamantides in 1995

The race starts from a roadside carpark on the B822 about two miles from its junction with the A891 at the cross roads in Lennoxtown. The B822 is the road from Lennoxtown to Fintry.
Lennoxtown is about 10 miles north of Glasgow city centre. My computer tells me that it should take 30 minutes from Glasgow city centre but you might have to allow twice that in busy evening traffic.,
