From Durisdeer Church Durisdeer Dumfriesshire

There was a race set in the same hills that struggled to get the appropriate numbers and folded. It was brilliant. The hills round this wee village are stunning. Coming from the M74 by road you cross the Dalveen pass which leads to a steep, narrow basin formed by the hills with an isolated shepherds cottage in the very bottom.

The race is a belter that takes no prisoners with loads of climb and descent weaving through this spectacular landscape.

The Organisers says - : Famous cream teas in the decrepit church. Reach Durisdeer fron Edinburgh and Glasgow by leaving the M74 at Junction 14 for Elvanfoot, Carronbridge and Thornhill. Following the signs for Thornhill (A702) you will climb for several miles then descend to a junction at Durisdeer Mill about 12.5 miles after leaving the motorway. Turn left off the A702 and you get to Durisdeer about a mile later.,
