The Fishing

 

The Strathspey Angling Improvement Association Water stretches from Broomhill to Grantown New Bridge and tickets holders must be in temporary local residence in Grantown-on-Spey, Cromdale, Duthill, Carrbridge, Dulnain Bridge and Netheybridge areas.

 

This stretch of water has 21 double bank pools, and for weekly ticket holders an additional 1¼ miles of Upper Castle Grant beats on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

 

Tickets available to visitors are summarised below, prices shown are as at 2002:

 

*  Visitor Season – 11th January to 30th September - £525

 

*  Visitor Adult – (Week – 7 days) - £155

 

*  Visitor Junior – (Week – 7 days) - £10

 

*  Visitor 3 Day – (Thursday, Friday, Saturday only) - £110

 

*  Visitor One Day – (Thursday, Friday and Saturdays only) - £38

 

Three Day and Day ticket holders are NOT permitted to fish Upper Castle Grant water.

 

Please note that there is no fishing on Sundays in Scotland.

 

Salmon, grilse, sea trout, any lure except prawn, shrimp and maggot.

 

Fly only on certain pools at low water.  No float fishing.
