An opportunity has arisen to purchase one of three new cottages to be built on Easdale Island.
These cottages are to be erected on the south east of the island adjacent to the existing community,
and will command spectacular views to the Firth of Lorne.
Easdale Island, situated adjacent to Seil Island off the coast of Argyll, and some 16 miles south
of the town of Oban consists of 200 acres, and has a permanent population of approximately 50 people.
Originally inhabited by slate quarry workers, the population of the island has been slowly growing since the seventies, and there now exists a thriving community.
The cottages are being built in a conservation area, and will be constructed in a traditional manner with
slate roofs, smooth cement rendered and white painted walls, and timber sash and case windows.
Each house will be built with a fireplace in the lounge, and the heating is to be provided by a
choice of solid fuel or oil fired central heating. There will also be the option of off-peak electrical heating if preferred.
Walled off garden areas constructed with the traditional slate from the island will be provided.
Please contact Mike MacKenzie if you require further details about the proposed dwellings or wish to enquire about purchase.
