School Uniform

We believe that school uniform is important in helping pupils to identify with their school, and members of the public to identify pupils as belonging to Monifieth High School. In addition uniform is smart and neat, and pupils and parents are not subject to the whims and dictates of fashion. School Clothing Grants

If parents are in receipt of Family Credit or Income Support the Education Authority will consider one application per financial year for a grant towards the cost of purchasing essential clothing/footwear to enable each child up to the age of 16 to attend school. (Young persons attending school beyond the statutory leaving age of 16 can apply for a Higher School Bursary - see below.)

All grants in respect of clothing allowance will be paid by cheque and applicants should hold a current bank/building society/post office account. Application Forms may be had from Head Teachers or the Education Department in Forfar.

Higher School Bursaries

These may be granted at the discretion of the Education Authority to any pupil from a low income family who remains at school beyond the statutory leaving age of 16. The amount of the award is assessed on a nationally agreed scale in relation to the total family income less certain allowances. Application forms may be obtained from the Head Teacher.
