AN00020A.gif (1492 bytes)"The Authority insures against its legal liability for (a) accidental personal injury, or (b) loss or damage to property of third parties. Parents are advised that no insurance cover is maintained for circumstances in which Angus Council does not have a legal liability. Parents may wish to consider their own insurance arrangements."

Parental Access to Records

monyhngy.wmf (10868 bytes)"The School Pupil Records (Scotland) Regulations 1990" make provision for granting access by parents and pupils to manually maintained records held on pupils. Parents and pupils wishing to avail themselves of this service must submit their request to the Head Teacher, who will ensure that the records can be accessed at a time of mutual convenience.

School Meals

Dagwood.wmf (18742 bytes)A large number of pupils take lunch in Monifieth High School each day. A cafeteria service is available, providing hot meals, hot snacks and cold snacks. We are also very happy to accommodate youngsters who bring a packed lunch to school.

Free school meals are available to all pupils whose parents are in receipt of Income Support or Jobseeker's Allowance (Income Based). Application forms can be obtained from the Head Teacher or the Education Department in Forfar.

Transport

sprtscar.wmf (7688 bytes)For pupils attending the local school proposed by the Education Authority, the Authority provides transport or pays travelling expenses where a child under the age of 8 would otherwise have to walk over two miles to school, or where a child of 8 or over would have to walk more than three miles to school.

Where a pupil is, at the parents' request, granted a place at a school other than that proposed by the Authority the parents have to make their own transport arrangements.

Application Forms for transport can be obtained from the Head Teacher or the Education Department, County Buildings, Forfar.
